Previously obtained CME Credit
The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) School of Medicine recently updated their web site. Unfortunately, certificates for credit obtained through the old web site can not be retrieved at this time. All participants are required to register on the new UAB website.
Continuing Medical Education CME Credit
The continuing educational activity for this site, including continuing educational credits, is free. You can access the CME site from any of the clinical cases (see the yellow CME Credit link on the right hand side of each case page; see example Figure on the right). For new users, please complete the registration form (AIDS Education and Training Center Participant Information Form); we receive government funding for this web site and user completion of this form is essential for the funding of this educational web site and to continue to offer free CME credit. For return users who have not yet completed the Participant Information Form, you will need to complete this form to acquire new CME credits.

The completion of each case in the Case-Based Module section should require approximately one-half hour. Proceed to answer the CME questions after you have completed the case and after you have read the discussion for the case.
To receive credit, you will be required to answer all of the questions correctly. Records of all of your CME activity can be viewed on the UAB CME site page under the header labeled CME Tracker & CME Certificates. You are welcome to take the self-assessment tests even if you do not need continuing educational credits, but you will first need to sign in at the CME site.
